The XJ900 Seca (sold elsewhere as the XJ900 / XJ900R) was Yamaha's 1983 air-cooled four built as a shaft-drive sports tourer. It used a stretched 853 cc version of the 650/750 four with DOHC and four carburettors, and an anti-dive, air-assisted front fork. Its handlebar-mounted fairing drew criticism for high-speed handling, and a frame-mounted fairing followed.
